East High School was founded in 1861. East High’s motto “For the Service of Humanity” embraces the school’s focus on developing lifelong learners who will be productive citizens. The East High Alumni Association was the idea of May Goodrell, who graduated from East High in 1877 and was also its principal from 1901-1918. The East Des Moines High School Alumni Association is one of the oldest and largest high school alumni associations in the country – something to be very proud of and support! Look through this website to find out more about the Association, the activities and how you can help to grow the Association’s positive effect on East High graduates and our community. Also, be sure to find out how your donations to the Heritage Club can make a HUGE difference. So many opportunities – dig in and get involved!
