“The Last Waltz” for EHS seniors

Prom season is upon us…dresses, tuxes, pictures, dancing…and a fancy dinner!  This year a select group of 60 East High School seniors are being treated to a three course, fine dining experience at the Cub Club in downtown Des Moines on Saturday, April 22nd.’  The lucky prom dates will enjoy a panoramic view of Principal Park and photographs capturing their milestone evening.

This is the first year that both East and Lincoln High Schools have collaborated to enhance the prom experience by providing this meal for a select group of deserving seniors.  Students will be selected based on academic and extracurricular school involvement  showcasing and honoring outstanding students who embrace and embody East’s motto: “For the service of humanity.”

This year’s prom theme is the “The Last Waltz”can you help make this “last dance” a night to remember for a few Scarlet seniors?  The cost of the meals are $2,000, and EHS is looking for individuals or businesses who would be interested in helping cover the cost of some of these meals (any contribution would be greatly appreciated!).

Your generosity can definitely make this a delicious experience for these model EHS seniors, and citizens!  If you are interested in sponsoring a meal and helping fulfill the ideal prom experience, please contact Jill Padgett, jill.padgett@dmschools.org or 515-242-7741, about the best way to contribute.

So far, EHS has received support from Capital Park Neighborhood Association, Capital View Neighborhood Association, and the Martin Luther King, Jr Neighborhood Association.
