When you make out your Christmas shopping list this year, please remember to include East High School. East has an in-school “School Pantry Program”, in conjunction with the Food Bank of Iowa, to provide East students and their families with produce, meat, grocery products and personal care items. This program provides hundreds of East students a little extra support and donations are always welcomed.
In addition, East High also has “The Clothing Closet”, which is a spin-off of the pantry, to help meet students’ clothing needs. This program began last winter with EHS staff and teachers donating coats and warm clothing for students and their families. Donations are always needed, especially during the winter months.
Students have provided very positive feedback about access to the pantry and the closet. The success of these programs is a result of countless hours of support by Food Bank staff and volunteers; EHS staff, students and alumni; and the local community.
How can you help? By donating some of the items listed below to East High School. In advance, thank you for giving!
